From Airframe to Centerpiece

The wing rib is the internal framework that keeps a wing from folding under load — geometry most people never see because it's buried inside the structure. Kyle built the Short Final to make it visible from every angle, which shaped every decision in the build.

The rib geometry is CNC-cut from an original FlightLine design file developed from Fokker D.VII scale reference blueprints, held to exact tolerances. The red oak is hand-selected board by board — Kyle rejects a lot of boards to find one with the grain consistency this piece demands. Brass-finished standoffs are hand-fit at every joint. The tempered glass sits above the rib structure, keeping the engineering visible and the surface clean.

Every Short Final ships with a signed certificate and setup instructions. The tempered glass top ships directly from the supplier to reduce handling and transit risk. The handcrafted wing ships separately.
